Hi hi hi!!!!
Happy P-Day!!!! I am reporting from missionary land once again!!! I hope you all have had a wonderful week!!!
Guys transfers happened this week and Sister Crawley and I get to stay together!!! Yay!!! Also I hit 5 months last Saturday which is so crazy, this last month flewwwww by!!!
Last monday for P-day we played a turkey bowl game as a district and it was soooooo much fun!!!! My dad has taught me well and I really love football hahah and it definitely came in handy last Monday! But then we got transfer news and like half of the district left which was really sad because we all became best friends and I just love them all so much and I miss them!!
We had Stake Conference this week too and Dwayne came!! He rolled into church in his wheelchair and was just so happy to be there. We sang one of the hymns standing up, and all by himself, Dwayne rolled up the little wall beside the pulpit to have something to help himself stand up and he did!! With one leg and all, he stood up with the rest of the congregation 😭 He had tears running down his face as he sang praises to the Lord despite everything he is going through. Having the opportunity to watch someone's testimony and faith build is such a special experience and is something I am forever thankful for.
We had a member meal this week with a sweet older lady and bless her heart but she fed us vegetable soup she made 2 weeks ago 🫣 and then we offered to take her garbage out for her and we went to the dumpster that we thought she pointed out. Turns out that we weren't allowed to use that dumpster because it was being used for construction and she yelled at us for it. Thennnnn she made us get in the dumpster and get it out. Sooo we got to go dumpster diving and we were already late for a lesson and we couldn't find the actually dumpster so we had to just keep it in our car hahahaha
Annddd Happy Thanksgiving this week!! I am so incredibly grateful for all of you. I miss you all so much and it is so hard being gone for the Holiday season, but I am also so thankful to be here in Kentucky. Gratitude has always been a big thing for me, but it has become even more important on my mission. There is always something to be thankful for and living with a thankful heart is one of the best things we can always strive to be doing. It allows a change in your outlook and your mindset. Your brain believes what you say about yourself and your situation, so when you say positive and uplifting things, they stick in your mind. Applying this to my mission has helped me so much. Being grateful for the good and the bad and expressing my gratitude to God has changed my heart. I could be having the worst day ever and say "heavenly father this is really really hard, but I am so grateful that you have allowed me to have this experience that is going to help me grow." Now, having this mindset all the time is close to impossible because we are human and no one is grateful all the time. But the more we can implement gratitude into our everyday lives, the happier we will be. Sooooo I know everyone is most likely going to say what they are grateful for on Thanksgiving, but I just want to invite everyone to always express the gratitude you feel, even if you're just saying it yourself and to God ♥️
Anyways this is really long but the scriptures I wanted to tie into my whole gratitude rant are 2 nephi 4:26-35. I love these verses so much and to me Nephi is saying that in order to get out of (as he says) "the valley of sorrow" we need to do a whole 180 and rejoice in the Lord. We need to do this especially when it is the last thing we want to do or that makes sense. We can always find a reason to be grateful and to thank the Lord. Also, as we keep an eternal perspective, we can say that it is well with our souls because of Him.
