Me and My Redeemer

 Hello everyone!!! Happy P-day!!!

So basically Kentucky has been hit with an arctic storm and we have been snowed in for 3 days now!!!!! The amount of snow here is about the same on a good snow day in Utah, but the ice here is actually crazy. Every single thing is covered in ice. So we are not allowed to drive or go outside if we can't help it and that is just so awesome!!!! Luckily we live with 2 other sisters so we have been doing lots of arts and crafts and playing too many games of phase 10 and go fish!

It's so funny because people in Kentucky have no clue what to do with snow. We were out knocking on Wednesday and people were looking at us like we were crazier than normal and were like "THE STORM IS COMING!!!!" And honestly we did not believe that any storm was coming, so to prepare we bought sugar cookies, salad, wheat thins, and some oranges HAHAHA and we thought we would surely be ok. Well the storm in fact did come and we trekked our way out in the freezing cold to Kroger and it was so awesome. If you've ever watched Tinkerbelle Secret of the Wings, that's what it looks like outside right now. If you haven't watched that movie, I highly recommend it!!!!

Ok anyways, in all honesty I don't remember a lot of this week but I know it's been good and that I am super happy so that's what matters!!!

I was telling someone the other day that missions are weird because from a worldly standpoint, I have no reason to be as happy as I am. I'm away from my family and friends, I don't have access to my favorite books or movies, all I do is work and talk to people who most of the time want nothing to do with me or with the message I'm here to share. All of that doesn't sound very fun. But from a spiritual standpoint, I have every reason to be as happy as I am, because I know who my Savior is. There is so much hope and joy in that knowledge.
P. Nelly said "When the focus of our lives is on Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives."
This is something that I am working on every single day, but as I have tried to make Christ my focus, I am so much happier. And what is cool about it, is that this joy isn't contingent on anything. It's just me and my Redeemer and His work.
I studied Alma 42 for a whole hour yesterday and there are so many good things in there but this verse got me.
31) And now, O my son, ye are called of God to preach the word unto this people. And now, my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness, that thou mayest bring souls unto repentance, that the great plan of mercy may have claim upon them. And may God grant unto you even according to my words. Amen.

I have been called of God and set apart to do His work - snow storm and all - and I feel so lucky to do so. There is nowhere I would rather be. I am so very happy!!!! Think about Christ and the hope He brings as you go about your day. Let Him prevail, and see the joy that follows!!!! πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ’“πŸ€©πŸŽŠπŸ’«πŸͺ©πŸ§š‍♀️
I love you all so so much!!!! Have a wonderful week!!!
